## Review: One of the best TV series ever made, it deserves the high praise it gets everywhere. I pushed it away way too often, thinking it would be overrated, but boy was I wrong; it really exceeded my expectations. Truly a masterpiece. The storyline is the best—the pacing, the storylines, the world-building—everything. It progresses as the episodes go on; it not only focuses on our protagonists, Ed and Al, but also on a number of characters and shows respect to the characters.

The plot is very clever and has many twists and turns to surprise us. There are many characters, and all of them have an impact on the main story. The secondary antagonist is strong enough to lead the show on their own, and that is what I love about this show. The show has comedic relief very often, even though it deals with a pretty dark storyline. Easily got one of the best endings of all time.

The voice actors were stupendous and of consistent quality; the directing was the best; the animation was epic; the opening and ending music was beautiful and spot on; the background music was flawless; overall, it's epic, nothing more to say. I highly recommend it.

This may also be the best series to get into the anime world. What a difference! I know there are some people out there who’d say this anime isn’t as good as the long-running, modern-day animes like Pokemon or Naruto, but I definitely don’t see it that way. The moment I started watching the anime, I was captivated by how different it was in almost every aspect compared to most other animes.

The animation, story, and atmosphere made me feel like I was watching an anime based on an RPG or something, not to mention the melancholic soundtracks that made me feel as if that was actually the case. If I have to point out one thing the anime does absolutely well compared to other animes of similar caliber, it doesn't make its MC extremely powerful, unlike in the case of Saitama or Goku, where the power levels fluctuate like crazy.

So that in itself is an aspect worth admiring. I’ll admit, the first episode made me want to fall asleep, but patience was key. I got through the other episodes, and I was immediately dragged in. The storyline was genuinely good, in my opinion, as it wasn’t too complicated or too revealing. This helps create some mystery and leaves us (the viewers) with a feeling of wanting to learn more about what is actually going on here in this universe, since not everything is as it seems.

A lot of the characters had some loving and fun personalities, especially General Armstrong and Hughes (may he rest in peace) or Fuehrer King Bradley and Selim, who, despite being the antagonists, still had certain sides of themselves I couldn’t help but sympathize with. SPOILER ALERT: Selim is a child, but actually a homonculus.

Bradley was specifically created to be King, but he didn’t ask for it and had to go through some terrible things (such as being forced to kill his comrades and not telling his wife the truth about himself), which made me realize that neither he nor most of the other homoculi would care about world dominance, but due to them being pawns in a bigger scheme, they really didn’t have much of a choice. (SPOILER END): They weren’t too overpowered like with other anime villains and actually had some cool abilities that made each fight feel like it could go one way or another.

All in all, this anime was great, and I’d recommend it to anyone who likes fantasy anime, such as myself. I feel like this anime is the Mozart of ones like Saitama or Pokemon. Sure, it may be old, but it has a certain beauty that only people with open minds are able to understand. So if you can do that, I think you’ll be happy that you ended up watching it. Well, that’s all. Have a good watch!
